“”Ey, wasn’t that the kid I’m supposed to be findin’?” Harold muttered as he peered through the frosted glass window of the store. “I think it is! I better go ‘n git him...” He jogged out of the store, his cigarettes could wait for later, and followed the two boys. “”Ey! Kiddo! C’mere, I need to talk to ya!” He was gaining up on the two when they reached a busy intersection.

“Adam! Which way to the RobotsRule! Building?” Timothy panted as they stopped, not sure where to go.
“Uh... I think that way.” Adam said, pointing across the street.
“Ok, we’re going to either wait for the cross signal, or dodge traffic. Which do you think would be safer?”
“He’s gaining on us! We’d better go!”
They both dashed into the traffic, horns blared and drivers stuck their heads out of car windows, screaming profanities. They dodged the cars and managed to cross the street without any harm. Timothy laughed and pointed at Harold, who was still on the other side of the road.
“Ha! You’ll never get us now!”
Then the traffic light changed and the cross signal turned on. Harold grinned at them and ran across the road. Timothy and Adam shoved past mobs of shoppers and people yelling on their cell phones, Harold following close behind.
“Wait, Timo! I just wanna talk to ya!” Harold shouted
“Yea right! You’re working for Matthew!” Timothy replied, not even turning around. Harold continued to chase the two, but they managed to stay ahead. “Are we there yet?” Timothy asked Adam.
“I don’t know, I haven’t been in L.A. for ages!”
“Do you know what street it’s on?”
“Yea, but this isn’t the time to ask for directions!”
They continued running towards the center of the city, and with each passing building it seemed as if they were even more hopelessly lost. Finally Adam saw a taxi idling next to the side of the road.
“Follow me!” He said to Timothy, then got inside of the cab. Timothy slid in next to him and slammed the door shut.
“Where to?” The cab driver asked
“The RobotsRule! Building.” Adam said.
“Alright, say, is that guy comin’ too?” The driver asked, gesturing to Harold, who seemed to be trying to break into the cab.
“No! Just go!” Timothy said nervously.

The driver pulled out of his parking spot and drove down the road.
Five minutes later he pulled up in front of an office building.
“That’ll be- hey! Where are you going?” The driver shouted as Timothy and Adam got out of the car and ran inside the building.

“I feel kinda guilty about that... but I didn’t have any more money!” Adam explained to Timothy as they skidded into the lobby. A serious woman with a bun so tight that it stretched back her face snapped at them,
“Hey! What are you doing in here? This isn’t a playground!”
Adam calmly approached her, “What floor is RobotsRule! on?”
“Why? Are you planning on destroying their delicate equipment?” She asked, her eyes narrowed in suspicion.
“No, my dad works there and I have to bring him his lunch. He gets really mad when he doesn’t have it...” Adam lied.
“Really? I doubt that. And you?” She asked, turning her attention to Timothy.
“Um... I need some water?” He offered weakly.
“Wrong answer! Get out of here!” She screached, then turned to Adam. “Ok, let me see this lunch of his!” Adam showed her his un-opened bag of chips.
“He needs his salt... this is the easiest thing to carry around.”
“Alright, alright, you can go up. Level twenty-three.” She sighed. Adam thanked her and headed towards the elevator in the corner. Timothy followed him, but the lady grabbed him and shouted, “Oh no you don’t! You’re going to wait down here for him to come back!” “B-but.. I need to stay with him! I don’t want to get kidnaped or something! Mommy said that there are bad guys here!” Timothy wailed, his midget-like appearance making him seem much younger than he was.
“Yea, ma’am, he can’t stay alone. He gets really scared.” Adam said while he waited for the elevator to come down.
“I’m here, I won’t let him get kidnaped.” The lady said defensively.
“Yea, but he doesn’t know you.”
The elevator dinged and the door slid open. Timothy begged her with his eyes to let him go.
“Well, alright, but if anything happens up there... you’ll be sorry.”
Timothy ran over to the elevator, realized she was glaring at him for running, and apologized while the door closed and they went up.
