Timothy made it about three blocks before the embarrassment and feelings of rejection kicked in. He broke out into tears,
“Waaaaah! Nobody loves me!” He wailed, and the people walking down the street swerved around him to avoid making contact with the crying kid.
He soon recovered from his tears though, because he spotted the most beautiful, adorable and downright cute girl ever to grace his eyes, and ears for that matter, because she was singing “I’m off to SCHOOL!” over and over again. She skipped up to Timothy and cheerfully greeted him
“Hello Are your on your way to kindergarten too?”
Timothy blushed, he had never gone to kindergarten because Amish people were home schooled.
“What’s your name? My name is Jordan!” the girl exclaimed
Timothy was tongue-tied.
“I live over there!” She said and pointed to a tan house with beautiful flowers in the front yard. “Where do you live?”
Timothy blushed even more furiously.
“I, uh, I don’t have a home, I ran away.”
Jordan’s eyes widened, “You don’t? How sad... hmm...”
She stood still, thinking very hard. “Hey! You should come to school with me!” She announced and grabbed his hand, dragging him down the road.

After a short walk they arrived at the school. It was magnificent, large and brick. It reminded Timothy of a castle. Jordan led him down the hall into a large room covered with posters of happy children. There was a large, colorful mat in the middle of the room and many children ran around the room with various craft supplies.
“It’s beautiful!” Timothy whispered in awe.
“Yep” Jordan proudly grinned, as if the class was her own creation. “Wanna play house?” She asked.
Timothy, who had never heard of house, therefor didn’t know that if it is suggested as a game, you should run away screaming as fast as possible, agreed and Jordan led him to a corner where two other girls were playing.
“Kalayla Melany This is Timothy!” She announced to the two short girls wearing dressed and braided piggy tails.
The two girls looked him over, seemed to approve, and asked if he wanted to be the dog or the little sister. Timothy quickly agreed to be the dog, and they all became friends.

After school Jordan and Timothy walked home together.
“School sure is fun, isn’t it?” Jordan asked.
Timothy nodded and replied, “I’ve never been a dog before!”
Jordan looked thoughtful for a bit then asked “Wanna go over to my house and play with Barbies?”
Timothy had heard of these for sure, the evil dolls that took over your mind and forced you to buy them hideously over-priced “accessories” for them that were really cheaply made pieces of plastic and cloth He must stay away at all costs
“Eh, um... well, I have to work on finding a home first!” He said.
“I have an idea!” Jordan yelled and pulled him across the street to a large house that had a pool in the backyard and ringed the doorbell. A middle aged woman with long blonde hair, a warm smile, and the distinct scent of cookies opened the door.

“Jordan! How great to see you! How are you doing?” She asked.
Jordan grinned up at her “I’m great! Remember how you said you wanted to adopt a kid?” She asked.
The woman nodded. Jordan got really excited and jumped up and down.
“Then meet Timothy!” She squealed and shoved him forward.

Timothy suddenly got very shy.
“Hi.”
The nice woman smiled warmly at him.
“Hi there, are you an orphan or something?” She asked.
“Uh, something like that” He answered.
Jordan stopped hopping and put on a very sweet and sad face,
“So will you adopt him?” She asked.
“Well, only if Timothy wants to live with me” The woman said and smiled kindly at him.
Timothy nodded furiously and hugged the lady tightly. Jordan clapped her hands in delight.
“I have to go now! Gotta paint my nails!” She exclaimed and skipped across the street.

And that is how Timothy Tosmall got a new mom. She was probably one of the best moms ever, she constantly made brownies, they went swimming every night and he had no bed time. Timothy and Jordan were best friends all the way until seventh grade, when the disaster happened.
