Timothy’s entire body suddenly grew cold, then went back to normal. “Hey Let go of me ” He yelled, and the hands dropped him. Timothy sat on the floor and saw a large man dressed in a security guard uniform, sticking his head out the ajar door, a horrified expression on his face. “I am so sorry sir, I mistook you for that new robot. Please don’t fire me ” He dropped to his knees and threw himself against Timothy, wrapping his arms around Timothy’s legs. “Ah... what?” Timothy stopped, shocked. His voice sounded exactly like Adam’s. He held his hands up to his face and saw that they were much paler than usual. He ran them through his hair, then stopped. His hair was shorter too “Um, well, yes. I forgive you...” Timothy said, still in Adam’s voice. “Say, do you have a mirror?” The guard nodded and ran into the room. He returned shortly holding a small handheld mirror and held it up to Timothy’s face. Timothy’s jaw dropped. Grey-blue eyes, short brown hair and very pale skin. “I don’t believe it ” He shouted, jumped up, and snatched the mirror. He looked down, and was wearing the same clothes, but they were slightly too big. “What is going on?” he murmured, staring at his reflection.
Timothy stood in the middle of the hallway, holding the mirror and staring at his reflection for a long time. The security guard mumbled that he had to continue on with his patrol, but that he could keep the mirror, then left Timothy alone. A group of scientists walked past him, each one exclaiming “Pardon me sir ” or “Excuse me sir ” except for the one in the back of the group. It was the lady from that hospital room before. She stopped and examined him for a second, then nodded saying quietly “You sure moved from your lab in the western wing to here fast.” Timothy stared at her blankly as she smiled like they shared a secret, then moved on.
Eventually Timothy dropped the mirror and wandered down the hall, going the opposite way the group of scientists from before had come. He came across a silver android that was walking a small dog. He bent over to pet it, but the dog shrank back and bared its teeth. “I-AM-VERY-SORRY-SIR ” The android gasped and shook a long, tooth marked finger at the dog. “HE-NEVER-USUALLY-BEHAVES-LIKE-THIS ” Timothy nodded, and squatted. “C’mere doggy ” He crooned, and the dog cautiously approached him. It sniffed his hand suspiciously, then bit his ring finger. “Hey What was that for? Stupid dog ” Timothy screeched, and the dog ran behind the android squealing like Timothy kicked it. “I-DO-NOT-UNDERSTAND-WHY-FEE-FEE-WOULD-BE-ACTING-LIKE-THIS SHE-USUALLY-IS-SO-WELL-BEHAVED-FOR-YOU ” Timothy smiled weakly and continued walking. “Yea, go figure.”
